Description
Tested on ScummVM 2.0.0 (which comes with the GOG release), and also ScummVM 2.3.0git latest development build.
The game has its own native control panel for sound options and save/load.
The player can access it with "F5".
Pressing F5, to bring up that native panel, and setting the Voice to "Text" results in no speech sound as expected. At this point ScummVM GMM (if brought up with Ctrl+F5) will still show a speech volume > 0 (typically 192).
I cannot exactly reproduce how it happens (because sometimes it does not) but going from "Text" to "Both" from the native menu, will sometimes result on speech volume 0 in the ScummVM GMM, and thus no speech sound in-game. Other times it seems that it sets it to 25 or 50 -- even if going from "Both" to "Text" and starting with GMM speech volume at 0.
The process to reproduce may involve Quitting the game from the native panel Quit option, too.
Sorry, I have not had the exact steps to reproduce down yet. I'm currently hoping someone who knows the engine better or looks into the issue will figure out faster where the problem lies.
However, If then you "Continue Playing" from the Control Panel, and later bring up the panel and go from "Text" to "Both", the GMM with show a speech volume of "0".
