Description
I know this game was only recently merged and is still in development, but I thought I'd document what I saw with the daily build from June 21.
When using the Steam version of Asylum, the game is detected as "Sanitarium (GOG.com/Windows/English)". Upon trying to start the game an error occurs.
Opening hashed: THEMERC
Opening hashed: sntrm.dat

File::open: opening 'mov000.smk' failed
[Video::playVideo] Invalid video index (0)!
Debugger started, type 'exit' to return to the game.
Type 'help' to see a little list of commands and variables.
ERROR: [Video::playVideo] Invalid video index (0)!
I assume this is because the video formats are different (SMK vs. OGV). This request isn't to support the Steam version, though I'm sure others may make that request. Rather, this request is to update the detection tables to filter out detection of the Steam version - perhaps by adding one of the movie files to the list or res.?04.
Interestingly, the Steam version of RES.104, .204, and .304 are all 299,872,422 bytes. The CD version of the files are smaller and different sizes. Not sure if this will eventually cause an error like the movie files.
BTW, Great work on getting this engine completed! I can't wait to play the game in ScummVM.
