SIMON1DOS: Graphical glitchs in castle

Description
I entered the castle with rupenzel and the room she is in is all glitchy. I've just tried doing a cvs update and recompiling but I'm still getting the corrupt graphics.
This is the English Dos version, non-talkie.
I'm using Linux (Debian, unstable). Compiled with gcc 3.3.3
I've attached a savefile in the glitchy room.
Disclaimer : I've had this game sat on my abandoned FAT partition for a few years now, this is the first time I've played it in a *long* time so it could well be my datafiles that are slightly corrupt. I'm not even entirely sure where my disks are so a fresh install, to test, would be difficult :-/
If no one else has this problem then feel free to close this report and discard it.

Hmm, I used the woodworm on the floorboards in this room (continued playing after I made the save file) and after a few glitchy animations I was dropped back to the commandline with the following error : read_vga_from_datfile_2: can't open 1172.VGA! Unless I'm mistaken this seems to support my earlier theory of corrupt data files.
To test this simply load the datafile I supplied and use the woodworm on the floorboards.
Setup as per previous report.

Definately corrupt data files, as simon1dos works fine with old save game I have at that location. Are you using the Infocom version ? someone reported exact same corruption at that spot once before.

Yeah, it's the infocom version.
So is this a case of corrupt data, or is it in a slightly different format to other versions? Also did the other bug report mention the crash at all?

Just a case of corrupt data files, the Infocom version just seems to be become corrupt more easily I guess. I own the infocom version of simon1dos and that location work fine, there is no difference in formats used.

OK, thanks for the info. Looks like I'd better be digging out my old disks and hoping they aren't dead :)
