#14528 closed feature request (invalid)
shivahkosher v2.0 is not detected

Description
The current GOG linux installer for The Shivah (Kosher edition) does not
contain ac2game.dat, but instead (?) the windows executable: Shivah.exe . Its size is consistent with it embedding ac2game.dat: 33MB, with ac2gqme.dat weighing at 30MB. This prevents detection by scummvm, at least as of 2.7.0 .
I suspect this is related to the latest changelog entry for the file on GOG, which mentions an AGS engine update.
GOG installer name: the_shivah_2_0_53607.sh
I peeked (using innoextract) at the current windows release, and there
is also no ac2game.dat file.
Please add support (detection and resource access) for this version.
Side note: I could not find this game in the bug tracker's selection, it may be missing.

Hello,
I'm sorry, this is a PEBKAC on my end: I used a *.desktop file to launch the game, and it specified the game id as "shivah". Which of course does not work, for good reason.
Doing as you suggested does detect the game, and it plays fine (...at least long enough for my occiput and my desk to meet and then part ways again).
I'm hence closing this bug as invalid.
Hi, thanks for the report. Did you try adding the game anyway to scummvm? It should open an "unknown variant" windows with the checksums. You can paste the info here
