Unknown game variant for sword1

GOG Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars Original English.
The game was patched to German (Voice & Subtitles) with Broken_Sword_GerPatch_V1.1.exe from:

I upgrade to SCUMMVM 2.7.1 32Bit.
The patched game starts with the version of SCUMMVM 2.2.0 installed by GOG without problems.

The game in 'Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars\' seems to be an unknown game variant.

same here, but i have the a german collection, only the swordres.rif have a other id:

Hi all, just tried everything to get my version of the classic Broken Sword running in German as well. Have tried the my the GOG version (with the German patch as Ohrwerk above) and just bought the Steam Version (cannot find any game in the directory).

Did install the latest ScummVM version 2.8.0 (did not work) and the latest daily build from Dec 16 2023 11:15:53).

Do I need the exact same files (e.g. will it not work if the GOG installer files are in the directory? My english version from GOG ("Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (GOG.com/Windows/English)") is working properly.

Any help is appreciated. I just want to play it in German again. :)

Hi, try the GOG Version with SCUMMVM Version 2.2.0 for this Game.
Works fine for me.

I no longer buy games from Steam. That's why I can't say anything about it. But the patch is specifically for the GOG version and according to SteamDB the German version is included (Free DLC) on steam.

Hi, will try it out, thanks a lot for the quick response!
Will search for a solution for my RaspberryPi 400, which I use in the living room (runs PiMiga as well as one SD Card with the ScummVM games to play on the TV). Maybe I just have to downgrade, because it did work in the past.
