Description
Most games where made for a specific target machine or OS, so in addition to core data and resources they include many files which are useless for ScummVM engine to run the game.
Sometimes reeditions also include bonus files such as Windows fonts, posters, and wallpapers.
It would be nice to have a clean-up feature allowing to remove useless files (such as *.EXE, *.BAT, *.PDF, Exe Binaries, etc.) and/or keep only resources required by the game itself.
A file with starting codes might be kept in the game directory, so a warning message should be displayed before any cleanup, with a cancel option.

100% legit. You are right it is better to preserve original resources.
I came to notice some games also require the EXE file. Futher developments might also use resources previously unexploited.
Anyway thank you for the detailed explaination.
Keep up the good work !
We do not write anything to the game directory for security and safety reasons. So, no, we do not want to touch your filesystem besides savefile and things like icon packs.
Also, in the vast majority of cases, the size of those extra files is negligible in comparison with the game. And if an .exe size is comparable to the games, then we are talking about tiny games from 80s and early 90s, e.g.in single megabytes.
