The game in 'HOLMES\' seems to be an unknown game variant.

We'd need more information, including ensuring the translation is available as a patch only, and the translator isn't distributing the full game. Then we'd need to try applying it, and ensuring whether it works or not.

Ah, that's unfortunate. Whilst it looks like it's likely a patch (executable, I didn't try running it) rather than a full redistribution of the entire game (which we couldn't support), it's unfortunate that it's hosted on an Abandonware site. As a matter of course, the team needs to be clearly seen to not be supporting this, since abandonware is still legally piracy.

I'm afraid I'm going to have reject this, sorry. If it's any consolation, even if the detection were added, someone would likely need to do further development in ScummVM to make the engine properly handle the translation, particularly if the patch made changes to the original executable and not just the data files. So unless someone volunteered to look into this further, it would still be a moot issue either way.

I suppose the fact abandonware-france takedown the download of games as soon they are available to purchase on an official platform doesn't change anything ?

and i also suppose it will be the same with the french traduction of teenagent who also have a modified executable ?
