#218 closed defect (invalid)

descumm doesn't work --- unportable C code?

Description

Are the descumms working? I tried descumm5 against mi1, descumm6 against dott, and both say 'Unknown script type!' Maybe there is a non-portability bug in the source, because it complaints about multi-character character constants during the compilation. Are such constants supported by ANSI (or at least GNU) C?

Or maybe I just call descumm in a wrong way, but I tried it with all the lfls and lecs, with same effects.

You need to run descumm against EXTRACTED scripts, not against whole data files.

Scripts can be extracted with either ScummREV under Windows or Wine - or by creating a 'dumps' directory in your game directory and waiting for scummvm to dump the script files manually.

These type of questions are best asked in the mailing list or forums, please don't file a bug unless you've checked your usage first.
