WINCE: The Dig crashes just after the press conference

Reported by: SF/mnbv Owned by: SF/knakos
Priority: blocker Component: Engine: SCUMM
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: The Dig

Description

I copied scummvm 0.10.0 and the dig to my 2GB CF card and started scummvm on my hx4700 with no problems. Just after the press conference at the beginning of the game the game crashed and dropped me to the scummvm console with the following error: ERROR: (1:2001:0x1A46): invalid seek request : 1916543280 >

The datafiles are know to work as I've used them on my linux box to complete the game a number of times.

The game is detected simply as "The Dig" I set the graphics option to use the hq2x scaler

I only just got the hx4700 a few days ago and I'm hoping to replace WINCE with Linux RSN so if any more info is required please let me know and I'll try to help as quickly as possible.

The dig is notorious about the memory it requires and add to that that your device is VGA (requires extra mem). What's your free memory like when this crashes?

Also this "after the press conference" is at the intro of the game, right?

I've got linux half installed at the moment so I can't check how much memory is free, but I made sure to close all other programs properly before starting scummvm.

Yes the press conference scene was part of the intro sequence. If I skip the cut scene the game continues on normally but it seems that most cut scenes, from the dig at least, cause scummvm to crash unless I skip them.

I'm having a few problems getting opie to work on my ipaq so I may stick wince back on until a newer version of familiar is released.

Raising priority. This is a release-critical bug.

Works fine in 2003SE, VGA, HQ2X, lastest svn. Choose your poison: fixed (backend blits or insane), low mem, bad files. If it persists, feel free to open this up again.
