Priority: | normal | Component: | Engine: SCUMM |

Cc: | Game: | The Dig |
Description
PC ver of The Dig, starts up, then will randomly crash at some point within the first 30 seconds or so of the game. Also, there's no audio. I also seem to remember some sort of introduction in the game, whereas in ScummVM, it starts immediatly at the first scene of gameplay

To process your bug report appropriately, we need you to provide the following additional information:
* ScummVM version (PLEASE test the latest CVS/Daily build) * Bug details, including instructions on reproducing it * Language of game (English, German, ...) * Version of game (talkie, floppy, ...) * Platform and Compiler (Win32, Linux, MacOS, ...) * Attach a save game if possible * If this bug only occurred recently, please note the last version without the bug, and the first version including the bug. That way we can fix it quicker by looking at the changes made.
This should only take you a little time but will make it much easier for us to process your bug report in a way that satisfies both you and us.
Thank you for your support!

This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. It was previously set to a Pending status, and the original submitter did not respond within 14 days (the time period specified by the administrator of this Tracker).
The missing intro probably means ScummVM didn't find the movie files, and the missing sound/music probably means that ScummVM didn't find the digmusic.bun and digvoice.bun files. Did you copy all the necessary files from the CD, or did you just run the installer? It's quite possible that the installer only copies some of the files, and that the original interpreter expected to read the remaining ones from the CD instead.
I can't reproduce the crash. (I played to the point where you reach the alien planet.) It's a bit early to tell, but often when someone is reporting strange crashes that no one else can reproduce, it turns out that the data files have somehow become corrupted. It might be a good idea to make another attempt at copying the data files from the CD as well.
