Description
Hello,
here is the problem: when I launch the game, the intro starts to play, the kid reads a magic book, then his father shows up and take the magic book, asking what it is. Then the intro stops. Not a freeze, as the music still plays and the graphics still move. The characters just stop talking or moving. I've waited a bit, but nothing changes. I've tried again a few times, but got no changes.
I use ScummVM 1.0.0pre043508. The game is the french talkie version. I use Win32. I can't provide no save game since game can't be saved during the intro. I've also tried with stable version, but it didn't change anything.
Thanks.

This isn't a ScummVM issue, the problem occurs in the original French talkie version too.
The problem only occurs when subtitles are enabled, and the ScummVM will continue, if you wait awhile (for a timeout to occur).

No, no ideas on how to work around this particular bug.
I compared the scripts of the English and French versions, but I don't see any errors in the French scripts for this scene.

leflandmichel: Please do not just add more comments with no more information as it is not helpful.
To recap the comments here:
This bug occurs in the original interpreter as well as the ScummVM AGOS engine. It only occurs in the French versions and only when the subtitles are enabled. The actors lock up for a period of time in the intro and then start moving again when a timeout occurs.

leflandmichel: Please could you attach a text file to this bug containing a file listing of your Simon 2 French datafiles, preferably with file md5sums? The output of a tool such as this: http://md5summer.org or other tool from http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Reporting_unknown_MD5_checksums would be optimal.
This will allow us to exactly identify your datafile version and ensure that kirben is comparing the same files.

Hello,
I've tested the game with ScummVM 1.0.0rc1, and the problem still occurs.
Thanks.
