The game language is French. The game is named "Discworld II : Mortellement Votre". The game is PC CD-Rom and packaged on 2 CDs.
No problem, I'll do a scan of the CD asap.

I just had a chance to look at the current detection code, and apparently your version is already present. One possible reason for the error I'd like to double-check - does your version use 'french.smp' for the sound files on both CDs?
As part of the manual setup, you should have copied them to 'french1.smp' and 'french2.smp' - the detection is explicitly looking for the 'french1.smp' file, so if it's not there, that would be why it's failing.

You're right. I've checked the files and french1.smp & french2.smp were missing. I extracted them from the CDs and now ScummVM launch the game without warning anymore.
Anyway, that warning was slightly misleading. Perhaps that's something for ScummvM to improve upon ?
Thanks.

It may be a bit misleading, but I don't see how it could be fixed - detection fundamentally relies on a given minimum set of known files being available. If one/some of the files are missing, how can the detection tell whether it's because someone didn't copy the files properly, or legitimately has a previously unknown version.

In such cases, we require some extra information - what language version the game is (likely French, but not necessarily), any packaging and/or release details, and, ideally, a screenshot of the game disc so that we know that it's an authentic release.
