Freddi Fish 1-4 Cursor Missing in ScummVM Wii Homebrew?

Reported by: SF/wildgoosespeedr Owned by: dhewg
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SCUMM
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Freddi Fish 3

Description

When I first start the Freddi Fish 1-4 games, the cursor is most of the time hidden from view after some cutscenes. After a random time later the cursor shows permanently. This strangely doesn't occur in Freddi Fish 5. The cursor shows fine in that game.

Just as a GUI improvement, remove the quit button when you press the Home button the Wii Remote during emulation. Also since the Home button brings up the menu, it would be nice if it hid the menu when it is showing when you press it again.

Also just as a side note when using the in-game menus to exit these games, it exits the ScummVM emulator (any system) altogether and, for the Wii, returns to The Homebrew Channel. It would be nice to have it return to the loader instead. If you like it the way it is, an option to set wouldn't be a bad idea so both the creator and the user are happy.

It seems to work but if I run into anymore problems related to this weird bug, I'll be sure to post them here.

Also will the other suggestions be considered (second and third paragraphs)?

The GMM dialog closes via ESCAPE, which is mapped for the Wii port. Closing it like you describe makes sense, but it would affect all ports. Depending on how input is handled there it might also break (2 MENU events in a row).

I'll look into that "return to launcher" thing, iirc we have code for that.

I'll close this then, as the cursor issue was already fixed
