ScummVM 1.7.0 1.80git2881-g1f8845e (Mar 14 2015 22:37:11) Win32 Maniac Mansion V1/DOS/English
The people in the game seem to be drawn one pixel too high. This can be seen fairly easily at the start, where the three party members are drawn one pixel higher relative to the moon/horizon. It can also be seen in-game when the characters can go one pixel higher than they should, making them seem too close to (or very occasionally hovering above) the back wall. Attached are a couple of screenshots, with one in DOSBox for comparison.

Fixed now by segrax.
Interesting, this problem was occurring in V0 as well (and has a workaround in place for it)
