#7302 closed feature request (wontfix)
ScummVM should save paths as relative

Description
After moving the folder of a game, ScummVm doesn't recognise the folder correctly, even if it's underneath the ScummVM main folder. Therefore, ScummVM should save the paths of the game folders as relative to the main program folder if they're at the same drive.
Currently, ScummVM gives an alert which looks like "'Cannot find file 'XXXX'" and brings up the console.

At best this is a feature request for supporting *optionally* relative paths. Maybe, and only *maybe* if you select a folder via the ingame GUI, *and* if that folder is a subfolder of the dir ScummVM is in, then we might store the path to it relative.

If this was for Macintosh only, I'd suggest using aliases... sadly, neither Windows nor Unix have anything similar, AFAICT.

"[I moved] the folder of a game, [...] Therefore, ScummVM should" ... ahhh... right... :-) For comparision:
I store my games in a location separate from my ScummVM directory, so I can use them with multiple versions of ScummVm. Therefore, ScummVM should save the paths of the game folders as absolute paths.
Now who's right? *cough*
