Description
Just for aesthetical pleasure, I think it would look tidier if the docs (ChangeLog, COPYING, NEWS, TODO and README) went into a separate 'docs' folder.
Plus, the OS-specific stuff such as the icns, plist, ico and xpm files could possibly also use a separate folder.
That way, the scummvm folder would be much neater... but of course it's just a minor annoyance... :o)

ChangeLog, COPYING, NEWS, TODO and README are on the top level by tradition and in virtually every single Unix software out there. Esp. README, COPYING and NEWS really really should be right next to the app because they are essential.
In any case, you are apparently complaining about a pre-release snapshot of ScummVM; moreover, about a source tarball, not a (release) binary. C'mon! If you are using a source snapshot, you should be very easily able to deal with a handful of files. You'll never see the plist file in a binary release, for example.
