MI2: Random Crashes after short while
Reported by: | SF/itsr0y | Owned by: | |

Priority: | normal | Component: | Engine: SCUMM |
Version: | Keywords: | ||
Cc: | Game: | Monkey Island 2 |
Description
Monkey Island 2 randomly crashes. It happens everywhere in the game at any point. When it crashes, it just dumps me back to the desktop.
The easiest way to reproduce this is to start a new game (normal, not lite mode) then press ESC to skip all the scenes. Once Guybrush gets up from the campfire and says some stuff then walks off screen, it crashes.
I didn't attach a save gave because it doesn't crash if I save it right before the crash. I can usually play for about 20 minutes before it crashes. Again, it's completely random and the messages in the console are usually different.
I have attached an example of the debugging log.
If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know (such as give more debug logs, more info on what happens, etc.)
Platform: Intel Pentium 4 OS: Windows XP SP1 Version: CVS 5/25/03

I just installed the 0.4.0 release and everything works fine, so it's the CVS version that is messed up.

When you say it crashes, do you mean it segfaults, or does it print any error message?

Please verify that this still happens under the latest CVS. Right around the time you posted this bug, I posted a couple fixes for music-related crashes. They may very well have fixed this crash. If it still crashes, please note whether it seems to always happen where the game is in the process of switching from one song to another.
Fingolfin: For program output at the time of the crash, see itsr0y's attachment.

I installed the latest CVS and it works fine. Must have been the music thing.
Thanks!
