Description
ScummVM 0.4.1 Vanilla (non-CVS) Windows XP Professional Edition Monkey Island 1 (VGA)
There's a bit of backstory to this: in 2000, PC Gamer released a CD which, amongst other things, had a copy of Monkey Island 1 on it. The copy protection routines are disabled--starting the game boots directly to the Lucasgames logo, or at least it's supposed to.
In ScummVM, the Dial-A-Pirate gimmick is popping up, even though it shouldn't, and it's leaving me in quite a state (the PCG disc doesn't have the Dial-A-Pirate info).
(Yes, I know there's probably nothing that can be done without mailing the data files, though I don't know how that works on a magazine-attached CD like this.)

It's since occurred to me, anyways, that it's likely a hacked binary, which means that ScummVM is doing exactly what it's supposed to, short of supporting a different client version (which there'd be no way of identifying, since it uses the exact same data files). So this is a useless report, and should probably be closed.
And yeah, anything works.

Unless your version of monkeyVGA is substantially different from mine (from the "Classic Adventures" collection, which also didn't include the Dial-A-Pirate wheel), it should accept any year as the correct answer.
It would of course be possible to make ScummVM skip the copy protection screen completely, but then we'd miss out on all those funny pirate faces. :-)
