Description
I think you forgot about Monkey Island 1 VGA Disc version.
It uses interpreter version "5.0.17" or "5.0.18" but is the same as Monkey Island 1 EGA Disc (It uses text and not icon-buttons for items, like the CD-version)
It runs still only until the "LucasFilm" - Logo, like the EGA-Version

I also seem to have this version; to add to my confusion it came on a CD, but it has text buttons. The files are called 000.lfl 90x.lfl with x=1...4, those are some kb; disk0x.lec with x=1...4 with a megabyte each.
On the CD is also a readme, which says that the game could not be played from diskette, only from HD; but I tried it, and it worked. Furthermore, the readme talks of additional Roland sound support and an EGA-Emulation mode.
I tried to rename the disc0x.lec to monkey.00x, but scummvm said "Failed game detection 1 1, 2 2, 4 4 4, 20 38 26 86 15044 Error(0:0:0x0): Bad ID iy?f found in directory!!"
Hope this helps.
Oh, I'd very much like to try a newer version than my current one (some mac os x native binary from the web), but the CVS snapshots are soooo old, and cvs cannot checkout thru my proxy server.
