Description
Under ScummVM version 0.4.1, I'm having seemingly random crashes under pretty much every game I've tried, usually at the intro. Most of the games I've tried were CD games, and yes, I have tried copying the files to CD, to no avail. A good example is when I start up Indy 4, it gets past the beginning part of the Indy 4 (cd version) and after Indy speaks his first line, the game hangs (along with the whole computer) and a really small (a couple of pixels thick) line obscures the very top of the text. Like the top of the text has been smudged or scrambled.
This happens (or something similar) with almost every game I've tried it on. I'm running Windows ME on an Athlon 1100 with a TNT2 graphics card, 64 meg of ram, generic inbuilt PCI soundcard (equivalent to a Vibra 128, I believe) - so I don't see any problem with the hardware. It runs perfectly on my machine at home. Any ideas?
Allan.

Yes, I meant HD. :)
I've managed to get it running for about 5-6 minutes at a time by forcing it to use adlib emulation, but it still randomly hangs after that.

This has to be either an SDL or video/audio driver problem.
What SDL version are you running? You may want to consider the following:
- Upgrade/downgrade your SDL libraries - Upgrade/download your video/audio drivers - Try turning down the DirectX audio and graphics acceleration levels. I forget where in the control panel you do this...

You said you got the games to run longer by using Adlib emulation. I have a couple of questions to gauge whether it's at all related to the music engine:
(1) What happens if you use the -enull option? This takes your music synth hardware/drivers out of the loop and may indicate if those are causing a problem.
(2) You said the games work fine on your "machine at home". What are the specs for that machine? Of course, the music hardware is of particular interest for my purposes.

Oh, also note that ANY bug reports should be based on the latest CVS copy of ScummVM. The release version (0.4.1) does not include a number of bug fixes and upgrades that happen daily in the CVS build. Reporting bugs from 0.4.1 that are already fixed in the CVS version just wastes developers' time.

" I have tried copying the files to CD" - I guess you meant you tried copying the files to *HD*, right?
