TITANIC: Glitch when loading game that was saved during conversation

Description
I saved my game while talking to the DeskBot near the start of the game. If I load this game either from the ScummVM launcher or from the start-up dialog, it does restore the conversation history but the DeskBot is folded up and the game says there's no one here to talk to.
Oddly enough, if I load the savegame again, it seems to be working fine.

Building from current master (23 Sep) 2.4.0git, I get this bug, but slightly different.
Loading a game that was saved during a conversation with Doorbot, from the ScummVM launcher, results in the (saved) screen with the doorbot missing. However, the player is still able to talk to the bot even though it won't show at the screen, and you can say bye* to it. There won't be any bot showing but the player will get responses from it.
While the bot is invisible, you can also call the bot again (even though the game was acting as if it was already called), at which point the bot will roll in as expected in game proper.
So it's in a Schrödinger's cat state. It's there and not there at the same time.
