Which ScummVM version are you using? Additionally, please tell us the director version shown in console. It should be 404, but we need confirmation

Screenshot_2024-01-18_20-05-16.png is the version. I had to make it myself as Fedora does not have up to date binaries.

I went back to the thrift store where I got volume 2 and found volume 1.

Developer "tag2015" asked for samples of files to correctly identify the disks and directory listings. He also asked if it was a physical CD and I answered this in a previews comment, they are physical disks I found at a local thrift store.

tag2015 asked for the Arc logo movie from the other disk, so I attached it. It is a different movie according too "cmp".

Note: There's a more common release of the Magician's Secrets series that works properly.
This bug is restricted to the OP's version.

It's been a while since I've treid to run a new Scummvm build. I can now play the intro but it crashes after I hit start.
scummvm: ./common/array.h:218: T& Common::Array<T>::front() [with T = Director::CFrame*]: Assertion `_size > 0' failed.

Don't remove DIRECTOR: from the title, please
I get a black screen and this looping message in the terminal:
"WARNING: DigitalVideoCastMember::createWidget: No video decoder!
WARNING: DigitalVideoCastMember::loadVideo(): unable to resolve path D:\MOVIES\ESSENTL\ARC.MOV!"
I am on Linux, so that "D:\" path does not make sense.
I've attached the codec info for "ARC.MOV". It does not play correct(audio but no vidoe) in VLC.
