SIMON: english text in german version

Description
If you use click on "use" and then on any object, Simon asks "with what?". That's alright. But although everything is in german, the two words "with what?" are shown in english. Not a serious problem at all, but I thought I should mention it... :-)
Newest daily win32 build. Simon1win german version.

You're right. Did a hex search in the files. "with what ?" and "to whom ?" occurs in the simon win32 executable, not in the resource files. Sigh...
Well, but I have an idea how to easily fix it (kind of). If you don't like this idea, you can close this thread. But maybe you like it:
How about allowing to manually extend the simon resources? When ScummVM detects simon1dos/win, it could check for a file "simon.ext" in the simon path. In that file could be two lines of text, one for "with what ?" and one for "to whom ?". If ScummVM doesn't find this file, it can use the hard coded english phrases. But if it finds the file, it could use those two lines of text instead of the hard coded ones. This way we would have no automatic translation, but ScummVM users could at least fix those 2 sentences in their simon installation to their language manually. What do you think?

I really don't want to do something like this, sorry. It adds many other complications and problems I really don't want to think about at the moment.
We might consider it later :)

No problem at all, was just an idea... :-)
Thanx a lot for your great work, I can't say that often enough!

Those words are now shown in their correct language for french, german & italian, if new language option is used.

Thank you - sounds nice!
However, in yesterday's build I didn't find any hint of a new language option. Neither the command line help text nor any readme showed me how to enable this option. How does it work? Thanks!

Use the -q option, even though it is currently listed as comi only. ie scummvm -qde simon1talkie
Heh, this is near impossible to fix. The 'with what' is, for some strange reason, part of the engine, not the scripts. So we coded it directly into ScummVM.
Fixing it would mean the rather large task of adding multi- lingual translations to ScummVM itself.
