ITE: Merchant disappears after saving

Description
The Merchant where Riff will buy the Needle for the sick Cat disappears, when entering the Forest and Save/Load the Game there. I could not find any way to let him appear again. Exiting/Reentering the Forest or even reload the new Savegame does not bring him back. Plotstopping Bug!
I´ve Attached a Savegame where Riff is standing on the World Map in Front of the mentioned Forest (Clearing). You just need to enter the Forest and Save/Load to reproduce the Bug.
I am using the German Talkie Version of the Game. I´ve noticed the Bug in the latest Daily Snapshot of Win32 (1.2.0pre52835; Sep 21 2010 10:32:24) and the latest PSP subversion Build.

That merchant should always spawn in a random forest, thus walking a bit around and trying different forests will make him appear again.
It might be likely that the save/load problem is a bug in the original, i.e. that it determins on scene enter (i.e. load) whether the merchant is there or not and the game didn't really save the current location of the merchant.

An interesting Point is that the game saves the Merchants Location when you are saving on the World Map. Even if you already visited him. So in the attached Savegame. Enter the Forest in the upper right of the screen and you will see him. Get off the Forest and save on the World Map and his location will be saved. Maybe really a Bug in the Original.

This is a bug in the original, actually. The merchant moves from screen to screen, and his position is not saved when loading. Same thing happens in IHNM, in Gorrister's chapter: if you dig Glynis' grave, save and reload, the grave will no longer be there. Closing
