Description
As Linux users with Alsa, i'd like an option to select the output midi device and not always using the default one. It's a bit annoying to change each time default midi device to play a game or another.

This request applies to Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and probably more ports: Make it possible to select different MIDI devices via GUI, command line and config file.

I'd also like this to be implemented.
I'm using Midi Yoke together with Roland Virtual Sound Canvas VSTi (through SAVIHost) under Windows XP x64 and I cannot select it as the default device.
If ScummVM offered us the option of selecting a device other than the default, I could listen to the music with Roland VSC VSTi!
Regards.

Another vote from me for this request.
DOSBox has this feature implented, you can either use the config, or use an internal command to setup wich device to use.
Would be totally awesome to select per game which MIDI device to use.

I miss that, too.
I use several midi-devices/ports (MT-32, SC-55, SB Synth, Windows Wavetable) and it's a pain in the ass to change the standard device (under WinXP) every time I play a different game. Under Vista, it's even worse... Microsoft removed the standard device selection from the system audio settings, which makes it necessary to add a device selection to ScummVM, to ensure full functionality under Vista.
--> necessary for Vista --> more comfort for WinXP
