I'd like to ask, if it would be possible, to create an
option to ScummVM, not to load the original language
file, but to load an other language file on my hard drive.
Fox example:
I really like Monkey Island 1.
I'm hungarian.
Many of my friends don't speak english, of any other
languages than hungarian, but they like playing
adventure games. Maybe I could translate some games to
hungarian. I've already translated some games to
hungarian. There are other games, and other languages.
Maybe there are many people who would like to translate
the games to their own language. Maybe you could place
the original texts to the homepage, in txt format, or
any other format, with a utility to translate, and the
next version of ScummVM could load the with that
language file.
It would be very good to play the games with my
original language. This way every game compatible with
ScummVM could be translated.
For example:
Monkey Island 3 is already translated to many
languages, because the language file is txt format, but
Monkey Island 1 is impossible to translate.
The game files will not be changed, the game only loads
another language file. I really hope it's not illegal.
Please, if you can, help me! It's a very great dream of me!

It's the Graal of every translator, but I don't think the devs would be allowed (or would take the risk) to provide you with the original texts extracted from the games -- that would be assimilated to unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material.
